Canine Merishia Massage

Canine Merishia Massage - What is it & How does it help?

Your dogs behaviour are important and you instinctively notice when something has changed in their behaviour. Dog who are suffering from issues will often do things like always lie down on the same side, or sit to one side, when you give them instructions they may consistently break your command and get up when told to “sit stay” or “down stay”, or change position, while running they might carry their hind end to one side or they might appear stiff and uncomfortable after exercise or rest.

Once disease and lameness have been properly ruled out by the Vets as the cause, the cause commonly turns out to be muscle spasms and tightness in turn leads to strange or uncooperative behaviour, an unwillingness to work and a lack of performance due to restricted movement. A massage by Yvonne at Pony & Pooch can release this tightness which will enable your horse to move freely again and the symptoms will resolve.

Yvonne will use a range of Merishia techniques not only include deep tissue massage, but a number of detailed mobilisation techniques, enhanced stretches, gentle release techniques and for very restricted tissue a unique quick fire release techniques
